Check Out Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner

Stefano Diotaiuti

We’re moving through springtime here in Nashville, but don’t think we forgot about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. This season’s winner is Tonya S., who submitted a few photos of her new shutters that really show off some great design choices.

traditional shutters in dining room

Tonya’s house features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Since her shutters are closed, you can really get a look at how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Envision that dining room with some softer lighting; it would be the perfect setting for an intimate candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your house like Tonya has, you can capture that exact mood at any time of day.

Take a look at how the white shutters perfectly match the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those neutral tones make the black wood furniture and the wood floor’s texture shine even more.

She didn’t stop at just one photo of her shutters, though. She also shared a photo of her new sliding barn door shutter!

We love this barn door shutter for a few reasons. First off, it looks fantastic. The rustic look of the wood paneling with that modern black sliding track up top give a timeless yet relaxed look. What we love even more than the shutters’ looks is how practical it is. The barn door shutter sits off the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still allowing the window to easily open and shut.

Because the shutter sits outside the frame, Tonya can still make use of that deep window jamb, too. For instance, if she wanted to set a flower on the sill to get sunlight, she could even close the shutter to let it catch some rays while keeping her home as dim or bright as she wants.

Tonya tells us that this is the third time they’ve had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For being selected as our Share Your Shutters winner this time, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a local restaurant.

If you want to show off your shutters and possibly be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a changeme next time!

Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you feel like your home is missing a little something, we’d love to help. Call 615-236-8530 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Nashville’s window design experts to begin.
